Brain Awareness Day 2011 was a great success. Hundreds of people showed up, and we constantly had a long line for our exhibit (possibly even the longest). Both kids and parents were amazed by moving the Rhino Robot using motor imagery detected by the Emotiv EEG headset. Thanks go to Aadeel Akhtar, Bilal Mehdi, Miles Johnson, Abdullah Acke, Jamie Norton, and Matt Petrucci for putting together and running the exhibit. Pictures from our booth below.

Members from our lab will be presenting an exhibit entitled “Brain-Machine Interfaces: Control Your World” at the Neuroscience Program’s annual Brain Awareness Day. Kids and parents will be able to move a robot arm just with the power of their thought. The event will take place on Sunday, April 10 from 1-5pm at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum in Champaign.
